New Rules for the Self-Study Room
To all third-year students: As the entrance exams get closer, more and more of you are using the self-study room on the second floor of the library. We are very happy to see so many students studying hard. However, the room has become so crowded that some students cannot find a seat. To make sure that everyone can use the room fairly, we are introducing some new rules starting Tuesday, October 13.
First, the room will be open for longer hours. On weekdays, it will be available【形】利用できる・手が空いている from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. On Saturdays, it will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The room will be unavailable【形】利用できる・手が空いている on Sundays and national holidays. A screen at the entrance will show how many seats are available【形】利用できる・手が空いている, so please check it before you go in.
Second, please do not save seats. Recently, many students have left their bags on desks and gone out for a long time. As a result, the room often looks full even when half of the seats are actually empty. From now on, if you leave your seat for more than thirty minutes, please take your things with you. Bags left on empty desks will be moved to the shelf by the door.
Third, teachers will now be available【形】利用できる・手が空いている in the room after school. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, an English teacher and a math teacher will be there from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. You can ask them questions about anything you do not understand. If a teacher is busy with another student, please wait quietly or come back later.
Finally, please remember the basic rules. Do not eat or talk in the room, and keep your phone on silent mode. If you have any questions about these changes, please speak to Ms. Tanaka in the library. We hope the self-study room will be a comfortable place for all of you.
